Intentional community is part of the “DNA” of King’s Fold. In community we find the strength and encouragement to live the journey. Our sense of community begins with our resident staff and extends to our part time staff, board members, volunteers, long term friends, former staff, and of course, our guests.
Our Volunteers (who we call Associates) are an important part of the retreat ministry, and provide an additional richness to our community while bringing time, willingness, essential skills and expertise.
The Board of Directors is a group of men and women committed to the mission of King’s Fold. They represent a variety of faith backgrounds and personal faith experience.
The Resident Community is a unique group of men and women who have committed themselves to the mission of King’s Fold. Their diverse life journey and broad faith backgrounds create a rich resource for ministry and relationships. Currently the Resident Community includes Michelle Newsham, Randy & Kim Wiens, Teresa Smith, Marlene Adrian, Frank (Director) and Nancy Littel, and Terry Dykstra. Mary Litschke and Alicia Dykstra serve part time and are a delight to work with. We are so grateful for these people and the varied journeys each one brings to enhance our community. Of course, Leila and our 3 cats (Tigger, Hobbes, and Rocky) complete our resident community and keep us company!
As a Christian ministry, we endeavor to live out the example of Jesus Christ. We practice hospitality without distinction by offering a place of freedom, peace, and welcome to all guests regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. We acknowledge and respect diverse traditions, heritages, and experiences. We will provide the openhearted welcome of God to individuals regardless of their race, religion, culture, gender or sexual orientation. Use of the facility by groups is determined at the discretion of the King’s Fold Community.
