Honoring God, Blessing People
It's happened! We have the money in place to begin the much needed Kitchen Expansion. Startup date is this April. Our goal: to reach lock up stage by Fall, with doors, windows and roof in place.
We at King's Fold are committed to building this expansion debt free. Every dollar you give will go directly into materials, no interest charges. Of the $160,000 we need, a $20,000 matching gift has been offered. The first $20,000 given will be matched dollar for dollar - what a blessing; first, no interest; second, your gift will be doubled.
As Director, I have committed myself to give a substantial monetary gift and also to give leadership to the building of the Kitchen Expansion. Volunteer labor will create a huge saving - perhaps you could help us.
A Wonderful Heart Warming Decision Has Been Made
In 1978 King's Fold came into existence as the result of a God Honoring Vision. Bob & Janet Ball felt called. They were led to create a retreat and renewal centre in the Protestant tradition, where people could find rest, renewal and explore their journey with God. A board was formed - they sold their home - a quarter section of land was purchased from the historic Bar C Ranch on the banks of the Ghost River. A small cottage was erected (now our shop) where the Balls and their son Timothy spent their first winter. An old outhouse, water hauled from the river, cooking meals in a temporary kitchen, shoveling out a snow covered trail to the main road, and scaring off bears were all part of that first challenging year. It was all part of the vision to build a place for hospitality and spiritual renewal - what a sacrifice.
The heart warming decision is to build and expand the King's Fold kitchen to meet the new challenges at King's Fold in honor of Bob and Janet and their God given vision. We want to bless them for their faithfulness and dedication, and honor God for his blessing on King's Fold for almost 30 years. The new kitchen will be dedicated in their honor, and as a memorial to God's unfailing faithfulness. So many lives continue to be enriched and blessed because of their vision. Will you help keep the vision alive by generous and sacrificial gifts? It's about Honoring God and Blessing People.
The need for an expanded kitchen is huge - your giving could make the difference. The original kitchen was built to serve 12-15 guests. Today we serve many groups of 20-30 and more. Freezers and dry goods storage are on the lower level; we work with inadequate stoves, 2 domestic dishwashers, a minimal baking area, and worn out counters and flooring. Our staff is to be commended for their willingness, for years, to make it work because they are dedicated to the King's Fold dream. The expansion will enable us to better serve guests, meet health regulations and ease the load for staff members. Your gifts and pledges will help us accomplish this goal. I guess you can tell I'm pumped about this project!
Blessings on you for your part in our Honoring God, Blessing People expansion project.
