Honoring God, Blessing People - Kitchen Expansion Project Launched
What a day it was - Sunday, May 6 was a time of celebrating the life and ministry of Bob and Janet Ball, the founders of King's Fold. The expanded kitchen project was launched by unveiling a beautiful stone plaque in honor of them and to celebrate 30 years of King's Fold ministry. Bob and Janet shared interesting and humorous stories on the early days in the kitchen. Other people shared stories of how the Balls and King's Fold have made a difference in their lives.
A prayer of praise, gratitude and dedication was offered to our Lord for his faithful watch over this ministry. Gifts of over $4000 were received towards the Kitchen Expansion from the over 60 people who attended.
Our director, Virgil Stauffer, had staked out the footprint of the new basement and explained what the extension would look like. He explained the huge difference this project will make on the staff work load and the effectiveness of King's Fold's ministries. It was a God honoring day - a day to be thankful and to look ahead to new challenges.
Looking ahead to the building phase...
The basement will be dug in May with construction to follow. Our goal is to have the building erected and enclosed by fall. Our goal for completion and dedication is 2008. That dedication will celebrate 30 years of ministry at King's Fold.
You can help us make this project a success by taking up the challenge to support us with your generous giving. No one debates the need for this expansion. It will include a commercial dishwasher, walk in cooler and freezer, a bathroom for staff, a much needed baking area, a commercial stove with larger ovens and a grill, and room for storage of all dry goods on the same level. What a difference it will make in time and work load for staff! The basement will offer an additional gathering room and the top level will have two new guest rooms.
We need $10,000 to reach our launching goal of $100,000 (we have $90,000) and another $100,000 to complete the project by May 2008. We will not be building beyond the finances received - we will complete the building debt free.
If you are able to help us reach our financial goals, please do so. $10,000 by the end of June is quite doable - and an additional $100,000 by next spring I believe is also doable with everyone's help. Thanks for your visionary response to a great need. I would encourage you to give prayerful thought to your part in this exciting project.
