HELP US "BRIDGE TO THE FUTURE" WITH OUR BENEFIT CONCERT NOVEMBER 1

On Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 pm there will be a
benefit concert for King's Fold.  This concert is an experience of "Music and Meditations," an afternoon of inspirational Christian music and readings featuring Covenant Award nominated harpist Tisha Murvihill, performing music from her CD "A Quiet Afternoon: Inspirational Songs for Harp."

It is being held at Rock Pointe Church - 255024 Lochend Road, Cochrane (between Calgary and Cochrane on Hwy 1A).  Admission is by donation and cd's will be made available for sale as well.

Every few years the bridge leading to the far side of the river (Eagle's Nest Cabin and trails) is damaged by ice or weather.  We now have the opportunity to build a durable structure that will ensure access to the other side.  Would you consider helping us with this project?  Please join us November 1st and help us Bridge to the Future!

King’s Fold is deliberate about creating spaces for individuals to have the time and leisure to hear God speaking, or meet with Him in a significant way.  Our fasting cabins have proved to be a significant component of this ministry for the last 20 years.  One of these cabins, the Eagle’s Nest, provides a particularly rich opportunity by its location and its distance from the rest of the facilities.  Periodically over the years access to this important resource is restricted by changes in the river’s course and level, which have disabled the various wooden bridges we have had in place.  Over 6 months ago our last bridge washed out, and we have not been able to provide access to the other side of the river.  We are looking for ministry partners to help us bridge to the future by providing resources for a permanent solution to crossing the river.   Our plan is to build a lightweight, steel bridge that will provide secure and reliable foot traffic over the river.  This structure will be self supporting so that we can move it to accommodate river course changes or move it out of harm's way during spring run off.

We have chosen to launch our fundraiser for access to the southwest side of the river valley through a concert of Music and Meditations with Calgary Philharmonic Harpist Tisha Murvihill.  Tisha’s ministry focus gives lived expression to the power of quietness and retreat.  Consequently, this concert is an expression of King’s Fold ministry and a testimony of the value of the retreat and renewal opportunities that our facilities offer.

Our goals for the fundraiser are:
$7,000 for the materials and production of the steel bridge
$500 for transporting and installing the steel bridge
             $600 for facilities rental
             $700 for advertising
Total   $8,800

Thank you for your interest in King’s Fold.  We look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in meeting this vital ministry need.
